note from milano/OEN Q&A

The thing about traveling solo is that these are the only pictures of myself I ever have. This is my self portrait from today at the Central train station in Milan. An amazing fascist building that I did not shoot because I was so tired. But I have this self portrait.
btw, I did a Q&A with the guys over at the OEN and it posted yesterday. They asked some questions that I really had to think about. Click here to check it out.
Have a fantastic weekend friends! I am off to Torino tomorrow to shoot a house I have wanted to shoot for 10 years...just a touch excited.  ; )

self portrait/roman and williams

Hope you all had a great weekend. I have just finished a marathon week of shooting on Sunday afternoon. Today a quick little self portrait of me at the offices of Roman & Williams on Saturday. Stephen Alesch has the most beautiful 8x10 land camera in his office just looking out the  window. It made my heart hurt (sigh...large format film!!!) but also inspired me to pull out my 4x5 upon my return to California this week. So many more beautiful shots from the shoot there on Saturday for one of my projects. I truly think the Roman and Williams office is the most photogenic place on the planet. I could shoot there for a month and still discover one more beautiful thing after another. Don't worry...you'll see more...

week of sharing/this is me

Actually this is me at my absolute happiest...discovering different worlds and people through making photographs.
I just wanted to take today to declare myself to all of you. Handcrafted Modern is merely the start. At this point I have enough project ideas to keep me busy until I'm 90. Frankly, I can't stop myself. One of the best parts of this whole experience so far is sharing these amazing places and people with all of you. So thanks so much for your support and enthusiasm for what I do. I'll keep trusting my heart and my gut to take me to the right places. I hope you'll continue to join me. The best is yet to come!
