jens risom/

I was running through images from Handcrafted Modern for a new project I am working on and I stopped at this one. It is a sculpture that used to sit in Jens Risom's dining room window amongst the plants. Jens has since moved from this house, and I cannot recall where he placed it in his new home. But I have just been staring at this sculpture...wow. So good. Jens has such an amazing eye for art.

handcrafted modern/the secret portraits

I love this portrait of Jens Risom I did for an article in Dwell magazine a couple of years ago. This was in his backyard. We decided that a sweater change would be nice (he was wearing a bright red one) so he brought out 5 of his favorite cashmere sweaters and I chose the color I thought would work best with this setting. Perfect, no?

handcrafted modern/the secret portraits

I love this portrait of Jens Risom in his bedroom. He had a wonderful view out his window of the New Canaan Nature Center. As I was leaving the day I shot this, he and his wife, Henny, wandered down the little trail in his back yard for a walk there.

handcrafted modern/outtakes/wright

Another outtake from Handcrafted Modern. This one of the upper living room at Russel Wright's home.

Thrilled to say my NYC book launch at USM and co-hosted by Sight Unseen was a big success last night. So much to do and so many amazing people I am meeting...it is truly fantastic!

Tomorrow I heading out to see Irving Harper and Jens Risom and give them their copies of Handcrafted Modern. Hope they like it! Vladimir Kagan loved it I am pleased to say...
