editing/jesse schlesinger
I've been editing through so many images lately, preparing my new website. It is a bit mind boggling how many images are never seen from a shoot. The "hero" images emerge and they are the ones that speak for the whole experience. And yet there are little moments like this one from my time at Jesse Schlesinger's studio when he was at the Headlands Center for the Arts. Because it was not chosen for the People Watching post for the NYTimes, it fell out of my mind. Editing through all these images feels like meeting friends I haven't seen in a long while. It makes me happy.

barn raising/jesse schlesinger
Scene from a barn raising. It was pretty inspiring watching this structure go up. Jesse Schlesinger from my NYT People Watching post and here is at the top of the ladder and was pivotal in the whole project. I hope to share more on this soon.

jesse schlesinger/nyt.people watching/outtakes
Here I am in London working on the next NYTimes People Watching post and I realized I never shared my outtakes of Jesse Schlesinger! So here they are, including my favorite portrait of Jesse and my favorite image of them all of the blue string study with that amazing triangle of light. A new People Watching post is coming soon. Just need to get it written!
