axel vervoordt/antwerp
I made a visit to the breathtaking HQ and home of Axel Vervoordt earlier this week. Here is just a tease image from his home since I have not had a moment to edit the images yet. I've been shooting non stop. But more soon. It is beyond beautiful there...

london!/instagram
And just like that, the book is finished and off to the printers, I get a bit of work done for one of my favorite (and first!) clients and I am off to London. Time for a bit of an adventure for me. YAY!!!!!!!!
I am here for all the fun and friends of London Design Festival and then off to Antwerp to photograph some wonderful places and people. If you want to follow along in real time, your best bet is to follow me on Instagram . My handle is lesliewilliamson . Don't be alarmed that my account is private. I love to get followers and will accept your request asap, I just keep it private for copyright reasons. If you have been missing my posts which have been rather sporadic as of late, you'll get a nice hit of images from following on Instagram.
I will be posting here for longer posts where I have something to say and images that are not from my iPhone (my IG is Iphone pics only).
Whichever way works best for you, I look forward to sharing another adventure with you all! Here we go!! : )

jens risom/
I was running through images from Handcrafted Modern for a new project I am working on and I stopped at this one. It is a sculpture that used to sit in Jens Risom's dining room window amongst the plants. Jens has since moved from this house, and I cannot recall where he placed it in his new home. But I have just been staring at this sculpture...wow. So good. Jens has such an amazing eye for art.

mohawk maker quarterly/issue 1
While I was working on the Modern Originals, Mohawk Paper Company asked me some questions about my work for their first issue of Mohawk Maker Quarterly. It is funny, I was a bit cuckoo with deadlines at that point so the second I answered their questions and sent them a few photos, I completely forgot about it. And then about a month ago I received this beautiful color newspaper. Wow!! I am in the comapny of some wonderful people whom I admire - Massimo Vignelli, Stephen Shore, etc - and I am in the section called "Champions of Craft" which I am completely humbled and honored by. Thank you so much for the acknowledgement Mohawk! You can read about it here

modern originals/progress report
Hi everyone! Life has been rather busy this summer working on my new book, Modern Originals, and the blog has been rather neglected as a result. I honestly forgot how intense and time consuming making a book can be. But I am happy to say that after an intense past month (or 2?) of working on the images and making match prints, I sent out the lot of it to Rizzoli last week. This first image was my kitchen table when I was going through every single print (231 of them!) and making one last check. There are still a few things to do and then comes the waiting game for proofs from the printers, but my hard part is pretty much complete. YAY!!!!!
I hope all of you enjoy this last gasp of summer this Labor Day. I know I am. xx
